We hesitate to put the words “easy” and “home workout routine” in the same sentence. So before we go any further, if you expect to reach your fitness goals and body weight targets without getting off the couch, then this post might not be for you.
If, instead, you want to get more activity in your day, without buying a bunch of equipment or a gym membership, then read on.
Why You Don’t Need Equipment to Workout
Of course, exercise equipment can help anyone workout. Different equipment can work on different parts of your body. But exercise equipment, like a set of dumbbells or tension bands, just add resistance to an exercise. But there are full body workouts that use your body weight for resistance to help you build muscle and lose weight.
4 Home Workout Exercises
The exercises below are really suggestions to help get your more active. If there is one or more that you don’t like, don’t let that stop you from trying the others.
Before we begin, if you feel even slight pain during any exercise, stop immediately. And if you want to take your workout program to the next level, good nutrition, including high protein snack bars, will fuel your efforts.
- Lunges – If you want to work on your butt and legs, lunges are just about as good as any piece of equipment.
- Squats – Good for your legs and hips, squats also help strengthen your back muscles.
- Planks – One of the simplest exercises there is, planks are good if you’ve been told you need a core workout.
- Push Ups – If you hate push-ups, or just can’t seem to do them, try one of the variations that make them easier to do. In any case, they help workout your upper body.
