Looking for an Easy Way to Lose Weight? Start Writing

With almost anything you do to improve your health and fitness, you’ll notice better results if you record your progress. When you track how many steps you take while walking each day, you’re motivated to take a few more tomorrow.

So the motivation to keep a food diary is that you’ll lose more weight and be healthier than if you try to lose weight without one. Not bad.
