Can You Actually Suppress Your Appetite?

Are you trying to suppress your appetite? Well, yes you can! There are various healthy and natural ways to suppress your appetite while still eating enough food. You may find you don’t snack on junk food as much, or you may start eating smaller portions.

Here are some ways you can suppress your appetite.

Drink A Glass Of Water Before Eating

About 10-20 minutes before you are about to sit down to eat, have a glass of water. Water can help promote feelings of fullness, which suppresses your appetite. You can also have a glass of water after eating if you still feel hungry. This way, you don’t feel the need to go back for seconds or thirds to try to make yourself full.

Eat High-Fibre Foods

Fibre does not break down like other foods. It stays in your body for longer, which can help keep you feel fuller for longer. Try to incorporate more high-fibre foods into your everyday meals. These include whole grains, vegetables, almonds, chia seeds, and apples, to name a few.

Maintain Low Stress Levels

Binge or comfort eating tends to happen when you are stressed. You may not even notice that you are overeating and end up feeling extremely bloated or full. Try to manage your stress levels. Or, if you notice that during certain times of the year you get stressed, try to keep healthy snacks around that will make you feel fuller faster. This way, you won’t be overeating and you can satisfy and suppress your appetite.

Exercise Before A Meal

Exercising before a meal actually releases hormones that tells your body it is not hungry. Doing a HIIT or cardio workout before eating can help you to feel fuller, suppressing your appetite for a while.
