5 Weight Loss Secrets

Can anyone who has never tried to lose weight ever know how difficult it is? For most people, healthy and sustained weight loss is one of the toughest things they’ll ever do.

But, if there is one overriding secret to weight loss, it is that you can’t let the difficulty get in the way of your goals. In other words, don’t let the height of the mountain stop you from conquering it. Instead, look for ways, secret paths, to help you get to the top faster and easier.

When you do, you stop focusing on the huge goal and start focusing on how to achieve it.

Here are five ‘secret’ ways you may not have found before to help make your weight loss journey easier.

  1. Use Your FF Button. With some 30 second spots costing millions of dollars to produce, more production money is spent per second of a television commercial than per second of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters.Why? Because TV ads work very well at tempting us to buy something. Something that very often works against your weight loss goals.Like that juicy, flame-broiled angus burger, made just the way you like it and smothered in your favourite toppings.

    Whenever possible, use a DVR to record the TV shows you want to watch and fast-forward through the tempting commercials.

  1. Gobble Some Turkey. Keep some sliced deli turkey in the fridge. If you’ve treated yourself to a sweet, have a slice of turkey. It’s low fat protein and it will help stop your craving for more sweetness.
  1. Make Food a Variety Show. You eat more when you have a variety of foods on your plate. So make sure to buy a wide range of healthy foods, like vegetables, so you’ll eat more of them. But avoid variety in the sugary or salty treats you buy, so you’ll eat less of them.
  1. Do an Oil Change. By using olive oil to add flavor to your bread instead of butter, you’ll eat less bread and consume fewer calories. And you can get creative by adding tasty ingredients like garlic, pepper and oregano to the oil.
  1. Rock Out. Whether you’re exercising or just doing the house work, listening to upbeat music will put an extra bounce in your step, which gives you a double bonus: you’ll burn more calories and get your chores done sooner!
