Cleanse & Detox – What’s The Difference?

In addition to being a bit of a challenge, weight loss can get downright confusing. There’s no better example than knowing the differences between a cleanse and a detox.

If you’re not sure of the differences, don’t sweat it. Most people don’t. And for good reason. First, the terms are often used interchangeably. In a single article or video, the exact same process can be referred to as a cleanse or a detox.

Second, they are in fact very closely related. A cleanse will get rid of some of the toxins that are the target of a detox. And a detox will deliver many of the same  results as a cleanse.

while many of the specific benefits of a detox and cleanse are somewhat different, he overall benefits are very much the same. They both help to ‘clean’ your system and improve its functionality. That can help you in many ways, from improved overall health and energy, to better weight loss results.

Enough of the causes of the confusion, let’s get on to clearing it up and outlining exactly what sets a cleanse apart from a detox.

The Difference Between a Detox and a Cleanse

In a nutshell, the overall difference between the two is in how the help clean an detoxify your system.

Detox

Harmful toxins exist is the foods you eat and the environment around you. Fortunately, your body has built-in toxin fighters including your liver, kidneys and intestinal tract. But they sometimes need help. A herbal detoxing supplement, like Optimum D-Tox, helps to purify your liver, keep your intestinal tract healthy, filter toxins before they enter your system, and kill bad bacteria in your system.

Cleanse

A cleanse focuses more on the health of your overall digestive system and improving your bodily functions.  Herbal supplements, like Bio Body Cleanse, act as a gentle, natural laxative, relieves water retention, indigestion and bloating and delivers powerful antioxidants to fight damaging free radicals that can cause inflammation, which can hinder the effectiveness of your weight loss efforts.
